Fishing at New Castle

A few weeks ago we decided to try out a new fishing spot and John's new boat. We headed up on Saturaday morning took a picnic lunch and caught a whole bunch of fish!!

JOhn's first small mouth Bass!!

Local wildlife!

Shane caught the biggest fish!

Connor got the first fish!

Bri loved to make fish faces at the fish!

We have decided from now on we will be bringing 2 things of worms, One for the fish and one for Bri to play with!

Cute kids!

John found this frog in the back yard and Connor had fun holding it . Bri liked it a lot too. Shane liked it but would not hold it.

The Perfect outfit!

Brooke has found her tongue and has it hanging out most of the time!

All the sudden I looked over at Connor and realised his shorts were gone! I guess they had gotten stuck in the mud and he just pulled them off and through them up on the bank! Good thing he had underwear on!!

I went to get a good picture and stepped down off the bank and sank up to my thigh in mud. I handed Amanda my camera while Glen pulled me out but not before Amanda got a picture!

A few weeks ago we met up with Glen and his family, Gwen and her family, and Greg and Lorissa brought some of the kids she is a nanny for. We met at Lake Mead and Dad and mom BBQ for us! IT was so much fun the weather was gorgous and the kids had a ball with all the mud!

Family Home Evening with Grandma and Grandpa

My dad took us around the golf coarse that he works at for Family home Evening the other night. The kids had fun riding around in the golf carts, looking for stray golf balls, and running around in general. And John had fun driving the golf cart like a crazy man! It is a beautiful coarse and we went on a beautiful night!

cleaning up

When the boys came home looking like they had rolled around in the dirt for 2 days I decided it might be better for them to rinse off in the pool before putting them in the tub! And why not add bubbles for some extra squeaky clean fun!

Father and Son's

Before
After

Connor was not in the mode to get a picture taken! but I had to get a shot of the after!

Well they had a great time! John was in charge of dinner and I guess it turned out great! The boys got to run around with friends and catch crawdad's in the stream! What could be better than that?
Apparently while john was cooking Connor was entertaining some of the other dad's. Late that night they told John," Hey your boy's over here, he has been over here all night. I think he is hungry!"
They had a great time and told me all about it when they got home.

The faith of a Child

The other day it was almost time for school and we were still searching for Shane's Shoes. They were going to the pool and they needed to where sandals they could get on and off easily.(Can't blame a kindergarten teacher with 30 students for that!) So we had looked everywhere and still no shoes. Shane says, "mom why don't we say a prayer". I have to admit that when I agreed that I really didn't know if it were possible since we only had about 2 min.tell we had to leave and we had searched everywhere already. I didn't even slow down my search long enough to realise Shane had said a prayer without me. As I am frantically looking he said something like, " we will find them now mom I had a Prayer." I was very happy that he had the faith and had done it all on his own. Right after he said that the thought came to me to go check around the trampoline one more time. Sure enough after one circle around the tramp and I had, count them, 2 matching sandals that belonged to Shane!
I had to admit that I felt a little silly for doubting. I hope that Shane will remember this time and remember to pray when he needs help! I know I sure learned a thing or to that day!

Fireworks

We watched the Mesquite Day's Fireworks from the Tree Fort. We all started out up there but me and the girls decided we liked it better from a safer spot on the ground! Bri was a little bit frightened at first by the fireworks but by the end she decided it must be OK.
