Christmas tree hunt

The search for the perfect Christmas tree turned out to be not so perfect! OK I always insist on cutting a live tree in the mountains. I just couldn't stand the thought of getting one from a lot or having an artificial tree. Ever since John and I were first married and actually even the year before we have always gone to the same location just above Summit, Utah to get our trees and then we would get some Chinese food in Cedar on the way home. Well since we have had kids this tradition has proven to be harder and harder to achieve. We haven't gotten Chinese sit down food since Connor was a baby. And I think this will be the last year we go up to Summit. We love the trees there but this year when we went to get our permits they would only allow you to cut Pinyin. That was the first let down, then after driving all that way none of the kids were in a very good mode! I wanted to get a cute picture of them for our Christmas card but after getting them in a good position Connor WOULD NOT look at the camera. The kids liked the snow and the older boys were having fun tromping around with dad. The girls on the other hand didn't co-operate as well. While Shane and John had gone down a very steep hill I was up on the road with Connor- who was sad that he didn't get to go. Brooke- who had a poopy diaper and was not happy, Bri-who was trying to climb on top of the truck, I took her down and was trying to help her walk while holding screaming Brooke in my hands, she didn't want my help and proceeded to face plant and skid down the hill. I think next year we will try getting one closer to home.
