Happy Birthday Shane

Well I have neglected my blog way too long. On April 9th was Shane's 5th Birthday! It was so cute because this year was the first year that he really was looking forward and understanding about his birthday. He kept asking when it was going to be his birthday. Well the night before I really started to worry if it was going to be a big let down for him. I was beginning to think that he was half expecting to wake up to fireworks. Well the next morning I got a true understanding of his expectations. He woke up and came in and immediately asked if it was his birthday. I told him it was and the first thing he said was "Mom am I taller?" I thought it was so funny all I could think to say was, "We should have measured you yesterday." Well for the next half hour he kept asking things like, " are my hands bigger, are my feet bigger, do I still have baby teeth?" It is so funny to hear what goes through a five year olds head.

Anyway it was a fun day we took snacks to preschool. I made those Dirt pudding cups with worms in it. he said there was only one kid who wouldn't eat it. but Shane thought it was cool. We just did a low key party. I let him choose for dinner and we ended up going to the new Del Taco. and then we just had grandparents over for cake and opening his presents.
