Shane's School update

Well Thursday (almost 2 weeks into school) we had our first full day with no tears! Yeah!!! Friday he teared up again when I left him. I think the main reason for that was that one of the other kids started to cry! I think for some of them it has just hit them that this is not for just a few days! This is not easy on these little kids I think I am of the old school half day is so much better for these little guys! I am sure there are some that really benefit from all day but I just wish we had more options. I was talking to someone the other day and she said that she is pulling her little girl out at lunch every day. I wish I would have known that was an option! I guess it still is but he is doing better and I am not sure if I should do it after putting him and I through THAT for the last two weeks! He has really grown! I hope that he has learned that even though something is hard it doesn't mean we can just quit.
His teacher says he is doing much better! I am so proud of him on Wed. I reminded him as he began his morning cry as I left that he was going to try really hard to be brave. and he pulled him self together and bravely walked in the door with very sad eyes! Oh it is so hard to leave him so upset and know that you are not going to be there to help him! Six hours is so long!!! Expescieally for a 5 year old!
After school when I come to pick him up he is doing well and is happy! That sure helps me to feel better about the whole thing!
